friday night kicked off the arrested development marathon at casa de zappin. they weren’t messin around either 20 some hours of deliciousness on a full projector screen. after sleeping through most of season 2 it was up for pancakes and “¡ecz cooking lessons!” (logo to come).
then it was home to get ready, pick up the andersons, drink itinerary and tattoo at the mccollums. we checked out the rescheduled c-note show at junctionview studios and then joined a lot of happy irish at spindle to celebrate st. patty’s day. it was a sight to see a few older women yelling “put on ludacris!!” and dancing better than i ever could.
sunday: church, north market and some party of five. always a good way to end the weekend.

so i added this compare people thing on facebook and it has been so funny to watch. i love looking at what people think about me. i’ve included some for your entertainment.
this is what i have been voted for the most…
really? have you ever been shopping with me? just ask amanda…it’s not easy. have you ever been out to eat with me? do you know how picky i am? just imagine what it’s like for me to pick out a pair of shoes if i can’t decide on mexican or chinese.

this one made me laugh, i don’t know if i’ve ever skipped class but apparently i should.
here is one i lost,

i’ve always wondered if i smelled bad, but no one has ever had the guts to tell me.
off to shower…

John Reuben; hip hop/rapper, sounds like eminem, comedic genius, coffee connoisseur, and all around good guy. He let me design his spring tour poster this year with photo assistance from Nick Fancher.
He also just received Dove nominations for Rap/Hip Hop Song of the Year and Rap/Hip Hop Album of the Year for Word of Mouth. Check him out when he comes into town!

I had the honor of creating the logo for the new show, iMix, on the Big Ten Network. My friend, Kevin Theessen, is a producer there and came up with this cool little interactive show. If you want to learn more check out WOSU. You can also watch some of the episodes on YouTube!

Well I got back from a short little vacay in San Diego on Thursday. My friend forever, Amanda, and I went together on Skybus. Even though there were some issues with the bus and our, supposed to be sweet, hotel…we had a great time. Itinerary included but wasn’t limited to:
- Seeing our high school friend Mal and meeting her pretty nice friends. Kicked some tail in Foosball, too.
- Whale watching. A baby came right up to our boat and kept circling. Apparently, this is not normal so it was awesome for us.
- Getting lost on a double decker tour bus.
- Running around Balboa park before it closed. We did catch the Museum of Photography which was really nice.
- Some sweet food including fish tacos, and great sushi. Dessert and coffee every night at Extraordinary Desserts.
- San Diego Zoo where we saw some pandas and I jumped in the pool with a hippo. The zoo chased me down for awhile until I was eventually arrested. Worth it…
- Coronado Island to just stick our feet in the cold sand and get in one more trip on the water.
- Meeting up with Mr. Palmbo for dinner after 5 years. Sitting in the car waiting for the monsoon to pass.
1 trip down, 2 to go. More pictures to come soon over here on my flickr—->

and this year i’m disappointed.
i was pretty excited to go to apple.com yesterday to see that big teaser about today’s keynote. i have to say with the exception of the iphone updates, i’m pretty disappointed. well, the itunes movie rentals are cool but apple is so far behind the microsoft world in that arena that it’s kind of embarrassing.
macbook air? i admit i can’t believe how thin it is but that’s about it. 1 usb port and no internal optical drive? apple got a little ahead of themselves. it’s just not viable for me. 80% of all of my files from clients still come on a cd-rom. and even if they didn’t, i’d have to unplug my mouse from my laptop just to plug in my flash drive.
i’d take usb ports and an optical drive over a paper thin laptop any day. i just don’t care.

so i tease amanda b/c she always gives this in-depth explanation about what she had to eat on any particular day. when she asks me what i ate i usually respond like this…
“peanut butter.”
when she would say “i had organic roasted peanut sauce on top of a loaf of homemade focaccia bread topped with salt and a honey marmalade preserves sauce. with au jus.”
so in her honor, last night i made grilled wild atlantic salmon with olive oil and fresh garlic paired with roasted zucchini topped off with lemon spritzer and dark chocolate truffles.
